Michael McCoy

Michael enjoys helping people accomplish their financial goals. He likes working through the analysis with his clients, because he often finds that they are reassured by having a sound financial plan for their personal situation as they work towards their goals.

He made a transition from engineering to corporate financial planning in 1987 after completing his MBA as Santa Clara University. He worked for several high tech companies in Silicon Valley, and helped raise angel and venture capital for startup companies in San Francisco.

During his time in corporate finance, he helped individuals with their finances as well. He realized it was more rewarding to help struggling individuals and families with their financial goals, and he became a financial advisor for VALIC in 2004.

He relies on his technical strength to help clients with strategies designed to grow and protect their investments, and he is proud of the long relationships he has established in his financial planning practice.

Part of his commitment to his clients is to monitor the performance of their investments to keep their portfolio on track, and to review their insurance and estate planning needs on an ongoing basis.

He lives with his family in Danville California, and he meets with his clients throughout the bay area. He is active in his community with Boy Scouts, school PTA, and helping to coach his sons' sports teams

He earned his MBA from Santa Clara University in December 1987, and his B.S. in Electronic Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1983.
